We have exciting news that finally after many months of negotiation we are pleased to announce that a final agreement has been reached with the contractor to build our new ground at Dark Lane, Bredbury.
In March work will begin when the two pitches will be constructed and in June the pavilion construction including car park and surrounding landscaping will start.
It is anticipated that the handover of the new ground to us will be at the end of October, early November. Our final event at Hillside Road will be the annual fireworks display which we will endeavour to make even more spectacular than last year. During 2022 we will be holding a number of events to celebrate over 100 years at Hillside Road. If you have any
ideas for events or if you would like to become involved with our social team then please let us know. We are always
looking for volunteers to help in any way.
Our new ground will be constructed on the field shown in the picture. It was taken from the Bredbury Hall car park
looking up the Goyt Valley towards Marple. We have bought 4 hectares of land which is four times the size of our present ground.
You may have many questions about the new ground so please don't hesitate to ask. We intend to hold an open evening in early April for members to come to the club and have a drink and a chat so that we can discuss our plans for our relocation. Your committee are passionate about developing the potential of Bredbury St.Marks Cricket Club. With our
fantastic new site it will enable us to eventually become one of the finest clubs in Stockport, if not Cheshire.
During the summer we will be writing a blog for our website and posting to Social Media to keep you up to date and informed of our progress. If you wish to contribute to the blog from different perspectives then please let us know.
